چکیده

This paper considers statistical process control (SPC) of univariate processes, and tries to make two contributions to the univariate SPC problem. First, we propose a continuously variable sampling scheme, based on a quantitative measure of the likelihood of a process distributional shift at each observation time point, provided by the p-value of the conventional cumulative sum (CUSUM) charting statistic. For convenience of the design and implementation, the variable sampling scheme is described by a parametric function in the flexible Box-Cox transformation family. Second, the resulting CUSUM chart using the variable sampling scheme is combined with an adaptive estimation procedure for determining its reference value, to effectively protect against a range of unknown shifts. Numerical studies show that it performs well in various cases. A real data example from a chemical process illustrates the application and implementation of our proposed method. This paper has supplementary materials online.

Economic- Statistical design of T2 control chart with the VSSC scheme

T2 control charts are used to monitor a process when more than one quality variable associated with process is being observed. Recent studies have shown that using variable sample size (VSS) schemes result in charts with more statistical power when detecting small to moderate shifts in the process mean vector. This paper presents an economic- statistical design of T2 control charts with variabl...

Three-Phase Modeling of Dynamic Kill in Gas-Condensate Well Using Advection Upstream Splitting Method Hybrid Scheme

Understanding and modeling of three-phase transient flow in gas-condensate wells play a vital role in designing and optimizing dynamic kill procedure of each well that needs to capture the discontinuities in density, geometry, and velocity of phases but also the effect of temperature on such parameters. In this study, two-phase Advection-Upstream-Splitting-Method (AUSMV) hybrid scheme is extend...

Bias and Unbias Comparison between Economic Statistical Design T2-VSI and T2-FRS Control Charts

The Hotelling's  control chart, is the most widely used multivariate procedure for monitoring  two or more related quality characteristics, but it’s power lacks the desired performance in detecting small to moderate shifts. Recently, the variable sampling intervals (VSI) control scheme in which the length of successive sampling intervals is determined upon the preceding values has been proved t...

Economic Design of T2 −V SSC Chart Using Genetic Algorithms

The principal function of a control chart is to help management distinguish different sources of variation in a process. Control charts are widely used as a graphical tool to monitor a process in order to improve the quality of the product. Chen and Hsieh (2007) have designed a T2 control chart using a Variable Sampling Size and Control limits (V SSC) scheme. They have shown that using the V SSC...
